My Entry Way

As I mentioned a few days ago this week’s Everyday Matters Challenge was to draw our entry way. Here is the result of that drawing.

A photo of my entryway (from a slightly different perspective) can been seen in my posting about my first art quilt, which is featured above the closet doors.

Lovely, Lisa! I like the view especially — the stair railing addition is really neat!

Very nice, especially the darker bannister in the foreground. It gives it depth. Like how you included the quilt!

Great job, and I’ll agree about the stair railing. You got the slight curve at the bottom of the steps just perfect. Really, this is a visually exciting angle, I think — there’s a feeling of anticipation, like we’re getting ready to step on into the room — the pause and deep breath at the bottom of the stairs before continuing on to meet the blind date or something! :-)

Lisa, With all the angles in your quilts we ought to have guessed you’d accept the challange of an interesting angle for your sketch. Very cool!

Thanks everyone. I pulled a chair over to my entry way door and that is the view. I doubt anyone would ever really see the room this way but I’m too lazy to stand and don’t think I’m coordinated enough to hold the pad and draw at the same time.
