Plains #2

I really liked this drawing and felt it had more potential than just playing with my new pencils. So just like in my fiber work, my drawings have now entered into series work, and here is #2. Few areas but more complex shapes.

This is all drawn freehand, no rulers involved. I’m going to have to investigate larger pieces of paper as I’m feeling a bit restricted by the 9″X12″ paper pad I have now.

I agree with Terri. Love the way you broke up the space on the page.

Lisa — so very lovely — and so intensely worked .. I admire your patience to be able to do this!

Wow! Practice does make perfect! It gives “straight and narrow” a whole new meaning.

Late to the party but agree with everyone that this would be a great series for quilts. The lines of your quilting designs are a perfect expression of the drawn lines.

Sherrill, it’s not so straight and perfect as it appears in full size - but I like the irregularity. Although I do admit I can draw pretty straight lines. Comes from years of cutting my fabric with a rotary cutter but no ruler or lines to help guide me. You are right it’s all about practice.

And thanks all for the comments. I started drawing to see how it could impact my quilts. I have ideas where I want to take this. Just need time!!!
