Art Quilts at the Sedgwick
This week I booked my airline tickets so I will be attending the opening for Art Quilts at the Sedgwick the weekend of April 7-9, at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA. If you are in the area please stop by as I’d love to meet you.
I’ll be rooming with my fellow Material Evolution members, Carol Krueger, who also has a piece in the show, and Sandra Woock, who is joining us for a weekend of fiber. I also have family in the area and am looking forward to spending some time with them.
The postcard invitation includes a small thumbnail image of each of the pieces from the show, which makes for a fun game of matching the artist with their tiny quilt picture.

I think it’s to the immediate left of the logo in the center, right next to the word “Square”. I’ll be there also on Saturday for the brunch and lecture.

Cathy is correct. That is Structures #41.
Although Mary is kind of correct. The quilt she identified was made by my friend Carol Krueger and it uses some of my hand dyed fabric in the background - so I have a relationship to it in a remote sort of way. This quilt was featured on one of our TV segments of Uncommon Threads so it’s quite the world traveler.
Carol got her Sedgwick acceptance about a week before I got mine and I was thrilled for her and happy that even if my quilt couldn’t go at least my fabric would be there. Now we will both be there.

Hey, Lisa!!! I’ll see you at the Sedgwick! So we don’t have to wait till I get to Denver to meet. I love those opening weekends and Marty and I always go.One year I even had a piece in the show - LOL. See you in a few weeks.
