Take Cover Show Revisited
I blogged the other day about the Take Cover invitational show at the Quirk Gallery in Richmond, VA closing this past weekend.
Some very good friends of mine went to the gallery when the show first opened in Janurary and they just sent me this picture from the show. It gives you a good idea of the size of my pieces.
This is Structures #32 (67″x53″) and Structures #1(38″x74″):

Whoa, Lisa! I didn’t get how BIG your work was by seeing images on your site and reading the dimensions. This photo really makes an impact. The quilts are beautiful!!! –Tricia

I am so envious of the huge workspace you have so you can make these huge and beautiful works of art!

Okay, here’s the museum curator still left in me: WHAT IN THE WORLD is that giant printing press doing right in front of your work?

Seriously, how I’d love to see these up close and personal. Congratulations. Most impressive I’ve seen in a long time, anywhere.

A friend of mine and I tried to see that exhibit at Quirk last Saturday. Their website had said it was open thru the 25Feb. When we got there in the middle of the day, they had just taken down the last quilt and rolled it up. When I said their website said the show was still supposed to be up the woman giggled and apologized! Why on earth would they take it down Saturday morning when a vast majority of folks work during the week (and sometimes on weekends as well)? I was majorly bummed about not being able to see it so I’m glad folks have posted snippits of it on their websites.
