Inspiration - New Zealand Brick Walls
Yesterday I wrote about Structures #8, which I made while I lived in New Zealand.
One of the inspirations for the Structures series, as I talk about in my artist statement, are walls: brick walls, stone walls, etc. I love the lines and shapes and design of these structures.
Here are a couple pictures taken in New Zealand that inform my work:

Ah, yes. I see how these brick structures have influenced your work. Loed the NZ story, too.

I too have a fascination with walls, and have quite a pile of photos of them. It intrigues me how they are the same but different in different communities. I really love the first of your three NZ walls.
I really enjoy reading your blog: it is interesting, informative, and generally inspiring. Thank you.

Sudden thought: have you come across The Stone Foundation? http://www.stonefoundation.org/stonexus/index1.html

I too have photos and sketches of stone, flint and brick walls, since moving to the islands I have become more interested in the stone houses here, many older ones were hand built by the local community and the arrangement of the stone is amazing, so full of patterm and all different, I never thought of it before but a sort of Lisa Call paradise ;o)
