Plains #5
I spent quite a bit of time this weekend working on another drawing in the Plains series. I really enjoy the medatative work to draw the hundreds of lines freehand.
Plains #5 ©2006 12.5"x 9.5"
There are times in life when all the pieces that used to fit together so perfectly no longer seem to work. Something shifted. The cause or problem can’t always be identified, it’s just known that something is a miss. Times like this are very frustrating and there is hope that things fall back into place but the fear is that things will never be the same again.

Lisa,
I’m not up on all the legal stuff… but if you drew this this weekend, shouldn’t the copyright on it be 2006?
I love looking at these plains series drawings…

Well, THAT sentiement hits a little close to home! Story of my life last year and I continue to feel the ground shifting under me from time to time. I’m getting used to it though and it doesn’t worry me as much as it did. Something has definitiely been amiss, things never will be the same again, and as I become more comfortable iwth that realization, I can see that good will come of it.
Your sketch captures that uneasy fragmented feeling well.

Just wait till your kids become teenagers!
Just teasing. It all goes by so fast, sometimes you just have to let go of fear and worry and allow yourself to be happy. I have some favorite aphorisms I bring out and dust off in trying times….
One of my favorites is: “You’re a long time dead”.
