Art Quilts at the Sedgwick: On the Square

It’s been a busy week so I haven’t had much time to post. I’m heading to Philadelphia later this week to attend the opening of Art Quilts at the Sedgwick: On the Square.

The Artist Reception and Opening Night is April 7, 2006 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The show is at the Philadelphia Art Alliance near Rittenhouse Square at 251 S. 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. 215-545-4302.

There is also a brunch and lecture on April 8th with details on the Art Quilts at the Sedgwick blog. You can find parking information on the blog also.

The show runs April 8, 2006 to May 21, 2006 with gallery hours on Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If you are in the area and can attend the opening or will be around on saturday at the lecture/brunch I’d love to meet you.

This is my piece that will be in the show. It’s very spare and is about balance and tension.

Wow, Lisa, it’s beautiful. I love the lines and the fact that you gave each block even more detail with the stitching. Have fun this weekend! Congratulations!

    Lisa,
Congratulations on being in this wonderful, prestigious show! I can’t wait to hear about the event and see photos (hint, hint).

Congratulations. Have a wonderful time. I love the word “spare.” I think it’s a quality often dismissed in art, but beautifully represented here.
