Philadelphia

I had a wonderful time in Philadephia at the opening for the Art Quilts at the Sedgwick: On the Square and really enjoyed talking with many artists.

Others have posted pictures from Sedgwick - check out these sites:

On friday before the opening I visited some philly galleries and enjoyed some of mosaic work by Isaiah Zagar. The photo below was taken outside the Painted Bride Art Center.

While I didn’t tour any of the historic sites while in town as I’ve done that many many times in the past with family that lives in the area, what blog entry would be complete without a picture of Independence Hall:

How cool! They had all the quilts lit really well too, it seems. That’s nice. I’ve been to shows where it’s in some huge convention center, and the quilts are hanging on these partitions.

It looks like it must have been so much fun to meet everyone and put faces to names, as well as their work.

Lisa, It was good seeing the Colorado bunch (plus Sandy) We too had a good time. We left early Saturday and spent the day with Ned Wert in Indiana, PA. Hope to see you at another show.
