Structures #52
Yesterday I posted one of my pieces, Structures #53, that accepted into Crafts National 40 (along with Structures #56).
The piece below, Structures #52 (not yet quilted), was the first of the pieces I made with the thin organic lines. It’s about 8 feet wide by 2.5 feet high. The color isn’t very accurate as the image was taken in less than ideal circumstances.

I like these pieces. The thin lines give it a topographic feeling, yet very graphic..It’s like I fall into them…

I would be interested to know how you approach quilting your Structures series. In the past I have dones lots of free motion quilting on my quilts but I am experimenting with gridlines on my latest quilt (see http://serendipitypatchwork.blogspot.com/2006/04/audition-time.html) and having to learn a whole new way of doing things!

I hope you realize how I am being affected by your work. It gives me permission to reduce and eliminate clutter and appreciate clarity of design.

I’m always amazed by your sleek and clear designs. I love your work. Do you know that I started your very first fan club. There’s currently only one member (yours truly), but it’s a start, right? (smile)

Your drawings are great! #5 is the best and would look especially good under the Christmas tree. Your talent leaves me in awe.
