Thanks Carolyn - that was nice.

Jan - Yes - I do this - for larger piece there are 2 sleeves on the back and I put in an extra nail to support the board. My problem with curtain rods is they are too fat - I want something no wider than 1/4" in there - otherwise I think it looks "puffy".

And Lori - thanks - the snow was fun for the most part and it's still here.

I love the rhythm and tonal subtleties in your grass photo. And as you can guess by some of my blog postings, I love finding those things near, as well. Stay warm, hope the snow makes for more fun than hassle...

Hi Lisa, I have a comment about your hanging rods. sorry if someone else already mentioned this, I didn't read the comments for that post. Have you considered making your hanging sleeve in two pieces, with a space in the center that your rod could be accessed for extra support in hanging? Curtain rods could be used for this since it could be supported in the middle of the quilt this way. Curtains don't droop if hung correctly.
Just a thought.

Lisa - your picture was a perfect background for my computer screen at work. I think about you each time I see that screen.

Colin - yes it is. I took a whole bunch of photos today and none of them really looked good.

Charmaine - yes! Although tomorrow I'll have to go in for 1 day before my vacation.

I like the almost but not quite monochrome of your picture. Makes me wonder if I'm seeing things.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother--my mom passed away back in August.

Thanks Cynthia and Jafabrit!

My kids are out of school already (yesterday was the last day) so I suspect they are a bit annoyed - all this good snow for canceling school and it does them no good.
