Quilt Top Finished - Structures #48

Contemporary Art Quilt - Structures #48 - In Progress - © 2007 Lisa Call
Structures #48   ~50"x65"

I’ve finished sewing together the quilt top - hurray. Next step is basting then the quilting.

I’m really excited about this piece as I think it came out well and I love the colors.

I have a lot I want to write about the quilt but I am again preferring sleep but hopefully tomorrow I’ll have to time to answer the questions and elaborate on some comments left the past week about it.

    Lisa,

How do you decide what size to make your blocks? The quilt looks so beautiful. I wish I could see it in person.

    Thanks, Sherrill

Wonderful. I find this to be a very exciting piece which for me is redolent of urban spaces and vistas, but also in what could be described as a landscape mood. Great stuff. I too wish that I could see it for real.

    Oh Lisa,

Congratulations!! I know it is so rewarding (and sometimes for me a little let-down too) to finish a gigantic step of a project.

    Wow!

Wow! Congratulations on completing such a large step. And, yes, the colors are beautiful.

You are such an inspiration to me to get off my butt and get into the studio more. I find it difficult to be disciplined enough to stick to even the loosest of schedules, but watching you set goals and achieve them is inspiring me to try harder. Thank you.

Thanks everyone - sorry for the delay in responding.

Sherrill - I don’t preplan anything - I just start cutting and putting the blocks up on the wall and go from there. That’s why I have to add on to or cut down the blocks to get it to fit together.
