Is this making it?

Worst-Case Scenario © 2007 by Kenny Be
A few weeks back I unknowingly appeared in a well known cartoon in the local Boulder arts newspaper, Westword. You can see the entire cartoon about graffiti artists on the westword website.
A friend mailed me a copy of the paper and it impressed my son more than any of my shows or sales ever have. I guess I’ve now made it.
Or I guess this means I have really good google placement when searching for a Colorado quilter for the youth crime wave.

Children are amazing about what they are impressed with!
Well, perhaps this WILL increase your visibility and hopefully sales.

That’s wonderful! Great way for your son to connect your son with your art.

I like the way he captured your quilting hand. I wonder how long it took him to research that! ….seems like a guy who is running out of ideas for his weekly cartoons.

My husband says that it’s one of the highest forms of flattery, for one artist to do art about another artist or their work.

p.s. I think ever since he told me that, I’ve started incorporating other artists’ work in some of my drawings. But I only do that for artists that I respect, admire and like.

Lisa, this is great! But Westword is a Denver publication, so the distribution is MUCH bigger than Boulder. You can pick it up on any corner in the metropolitan area. You’re more famous than ever!

I was just going to say the same thing Alyson! Beat me to it. I love Kenny B’s commentaries and pick up the Westword almost every week.

Actually, it’s not a bad idea either……

Way to go Lisa!
The cartoon suits you perfectly and I love the hand quilting technique you are teaching the misguided youth - they are intrigued by the process…
