Lisa,
The opening was great! I am a first timer so I was overwhelmed with the amount of people (over 425) at the Friday night opening. You are in the middle I believe, close to me. I will take a photo when I go back in June so you can see. Your work is excellent and I hope I can be a 3-timer too!!!!
This year's catalog is excellent, the color is much truer than the last one.
This year 47 of the quilts were first timers so to get in a third time really says something for your body of work. Congrats

Hi, I found you via Yakuma and love your quilt blog. Just gorgeous and as I don't have any quilt blogs in my link list, think your space would make a fine addition. I have an aesthetics and extreme beauty blog. (not fashion) fine and performing arts, etc.

Meagan - thank you so much - the support is wonderful. Jeannie - same thing. Much appreciated. The month has been draining and I think I need a weekend to rest.

Thanks Diane - yes I will post a photo of that piece in the next post for you.

KJ - I agree - if we talk about these exhibitions and what they mean to us then maybe things will be a little smoother for everyone. These competitions can be so maddening at times. I think I didn't quite say everything as I wanted to so I'm sure I'll be posting on this topic again soon.

I understand where you're coming from with the competition thing. Damned if you do or don't and all the other contradictions involved. Looks like a good show for all the reasons you listed. Exposing the artist's viewpoint about various exhibition options is something new with widening conversations on the web. Perhaps it will eventually straighten out a few kinks in the system.

Lisa - you are one of the most hard-working people I have ever met. I would not begrudge you reward for your hard work. I am glad you have been picked again!

I am sorry you won't get to go and hang out with your friends.

You are an inspiration to me! I love that quilt on the cover - any chance of posting that quilt image sometime? Do you have a photograph? (I am a color girl so my eye especially goes to color - you teach me appreciation for structure.)

You have a following! I too, read your blog daily and am inspired by your dedication to your work and the wonderful products of this work. I also agree about the auctioning of the small quilts. I couldn't get the image of the ads for "works of art! you too can own an oil painting for only $49.95 this weekend only at the Holiday Inn". If I ever am fortunate to meet you, I will ask you to sign my Quilt Nat'l catalogues. Good luck with the coding project - I know how frustrating they can be sometimes. Have a great weekend. Cheers.

I just want to say that I have been reading your blog for quite some time now and that you are a real inspiration to me. Every time I get discouraged or overwhelmed, I try to think about you and how hard you work and how far you've gotten because you work so hard.

I think that you had some really valid things to say concerning SAQA and I'm glad that someone finally had the guts to actually say something and bring up some uncomfortable but necessary issues. I am not a member of these organizations but as an art quilter, they do affect me and I really appreciate your courage.

You sounded a little down in this latest post and I just wanted to say thanks for writing your blog, and that you're always welcome in my circle - for however much that means :-) - and that if or when I ever see you, I will certainly ask for your autograph. :-)
