Maggie - I'm working on changing my blog surfing habits. I read a lot of blogs (more than I have in my sidebar) and it does take a lot of time. I'm not willing to give up reading but I think I'm going to cut down on how often I read. Batch up the reading instead of a few here and there.

Kathleen - thanks for the book recommendation - I've put it on hold at the library. I can always use good book recommendations.

Everyone else - thanks for the comment. I hope you all are focusing on what makes you happy also.

Brilliant suggestions for cutting down time on the computer. I too am really trying to cut down on my e-mail time. I am reluctant to stop my blog surfing all together, as I find some really inspiring ideas to help stimulate me. Thank You for sharing your thoughts. Best wishes

"I seriously cut down on the amount of time I spend on my computer doing nothing. "

I think I need to follow suit here and just plain sign off- it would free up so much more time!

I absolutely love this post. Thank you for sharing how you are staying so focused. Eleminating all that computer time has to be very freeing to a person ... I need to cut back also and spend my time in a more creative way. Again, thank you.

I just happened to visit your blog, it is next to mine in the ring, funny how that works. I have been feeling like I am not using my time well, with the kids home from school. Your list of small changes is a great way to get me focused. RE: books on tape, have you listened to "I feel bad about my neck" by Nora Ephron? It is a riot!

Well done in getting so much accomplished. Sounds like you are learning to say no to those things that get in the way. I am still working on that. People bring me alterations (I can still use the extra money) and it is hard for me to say no. Then I procrastinate and drive myself crazy because I really did not want to do the alternation in the first place, but I couldn't say no. I really like Structures #58 - the rhythm of the lines and the blue fabric - very cool. It is a good feelilng to get a UFO done. You have inspired me to get a list going today and make a plan to get all those pesky alterations done so I can work on my quilting!
