		<description>The black thing is indeed a historical marker of some sort.  Kind of funky but the purpose of the room is the lobby of a theater - so it has to do that job also.

		<description>It would be awfully hard to hard to hang one of your works up side down given the rod pocket sewn to the back, but it looks like you POSTED it upside down on the blog. Not the end of the world, but definitely worth a giggle. :-)</description>

		<description>from my point of view the whole picture looks upside down because of the very wide dado rail which has been placed so low down the wall (and one cannot really see the picture rail very well).  I don't know if that's it, but it's what struck me first when I saw the photo.</description>
