Aspens

Went for a hike in the Mt Evans Wilderness this weekend through a huge grove of Aspen trees. It was magical. I was completely in awe of these amazing trees.

I hope the colors looks okay in these – just calibrated my monitor and I’m thinking I’ll redo it in the morning cause it’s looking a bit weird.

That said – the golden light from the leaves of the aspen trees incredible. Photoshop isn’t believing the sky was as blue as it was and leaves as gold as they were. High on the list of todos for post host remodel – learn to use my camera and photoshop correctly.

Hi Lisa — do you have a standard monitor or are you talking about calibrating your laptop screen? I’ve been told that it won’t help to calibrate my laptop screen. If it’s your laptop screen, what program do you use to calibrate it?

these trees are just wonderful, trees seem to be what I photograph more than anything else for reference so the sight of these get me excited

    cheers Janine in Australia

I’d love to see the birch groves in Russia Natalya!

Pat – I’m curious why you were told it won’t help. It definitely changes how things look. I’m using Spyder III to do the calibration. I redid it this morning and seems much better.

Janine – that’s so cool you have recognized something that really inspires you. I take a lot of tree pictures also but what I really love are canyon walls. I need to go back to the grand canyon!

I believe the technical reason given for not bothering to calibrate a laptop is that the pixels are constantly changing. I was also told that just the angle of the screen itself changes the colors.

    Just gorgeous!!!

seems like the greens and yellows are off on my screen, just in case that helps or not. the contrast looks good (which on laptops tends to be too bright in my opinion) other than that, the actual subject matter is quite beautiful and fresh!
