Limited Capacity for Doing Stuff

Everything is Great
The last few days have been a whirlwind of activity at my house. Making art, making progress on my new website and then today building a webpage for a holiday art sale I’m participating in with a few other artists (more on that when it’s all ready).
There is much progress on my house also. As of today there are foundation walls out back and it’s really defining the space quite nicely. I can really get a feel for the size and shape of things and I’m thrilled. The studio is about 2/3rds the size of my last studio and that’s about perfect for now. It either needed to be twice as big or it needed to be exactly the size I’m building it. I love when things work out exactly right.
Basically everything is going really wonderful right now and I’ve been in a great mood recently.
Nothing to Say
Problem is I can think of nothing to blog about. Actually that isn’t true. I can think of nothing to blog about that won’t take a really long time to write and I don’t feel like doing that right now. All my time is currently going into creative pursuits like web design and art making and writing clever comments on my construction photos. So I think my brain is on empty when it comes to write a blog post.
I find it goes in cycles. When I’m not doing so much of other things, I have creativity left over to blog. When things kick into high gear in all the other areas, I’m a little less motivation to blog.
Or maybe it’s the excitement of the pumper truck. Isn’t it the coolest thing? Lots more photos on smugmug of the foundation walls:
Yesterday (putting up the forms): November 4 Construction Photos
Today (pouring the concrete): November 5 Construction Photos
Or honestly – maybe I just ate too much Halloween candy to have anything intelligent to say.

oh wow! I see what you mean about that cool thing that comes over the house! Neat, it is kinda like playing with a big robot/lego toy isn’t it?
I think it’s fair that you’re a bit distracted and excited about non-blog stuff, and even non-studio studio (tho technically it *is* your studio). It happens. Our blogs don’t equal life. :) Sometimes it’s a nice chance to just blog an image of some sort; suggestions: an old work, a work in progress, another artist you like or collect, progress pics of the new studio. Hey wait, you’ve got the last one.
definitely the halloween candy is a problem.. it is at this house! Isn’t that pumper truck cool? we had one at our house 3 years ago when the addition happened, the whole neighborhood came out to watch. the 10 year old boys were especially excited…
love that machine on the left! fun stuff to watch!!!
you got tons going on, it’s amazing you can even think straight!
blog fodder for months and months :)
have fun with it all, look forward to the new website stuff!
What fun! I’ve been awaiting the next round of construction photos- like I said before I have a thing about watching construction-anyway, it looks like its going great. It must be very exciting to see your new studio come to life like this. Enjoy!
Tina – yes – totally a cool robot toy!
Natalya – I think I’m a 10 year old boy at times – I loved the truck!
Paula – I want to send you all this junk laying around my house – you’d make great art with it.
Deborah – I know – something about watching – it’s mesmerizing.
When do you anticipate ‘moving in’?
They are scheduled to be done end of February. Being realistic in my mind I keep end of March as the target date.
I have never seen one of those “over the house” pumpers before. I had given up on the idea of adding a sunroom with basement because my lot is small and there is no way to get a truck back there. Maybe I need to rethink it now. I am really enjoying the construction photos. One of my favorite passtimes is looking at house plans.
Wanda – yes – they can get cement pretty much any where these days. If you want a sunroom – go for it!
