Gratitude

From The Adversity University Blog

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

I’m very grateful for my job.
for my art.
for my children.

And for the dough for snickerdoodles in the fridge. My first batch of cookies for the season. Joyful yumminess!

Here’s what my kitchen looks like right now: An adventure in cooking!

Tomorrow look for some brand new art in this space! woohoo!

It took me 4 hours to find to find the right frame of mind to write this post. The day job hit a speed bump today and it took me a while to quit obsessing and just get over it. It will all work out as it should.

The trick was hunting through my future blog post ideas looking for something I could post. Found this quote. Realized it is completely my decision how I react to the incident at work. I’m choosing to view it as an opportunity for something new and better to come my way, which I am positive will happen.

Now back to the holidays.

I do not see a stove in your photos-but trust you must have one to bake that dough in :-)
loved the gratitude quote-what an interesting website it linked to.
I also have found stepping back and embracing a speedbump with trust that the solution will come in it’s own time or own way works well.
    enjoy your joyful day!

  2. My comments keep disappearing when the internet goes kaput on me. I’ll try again to tell you how I empathize with remodeling and building……..and NO COOKING SPACE. Who’d a thunk I would complain about not cooking. Wish I had more of those cookies I already ate but they are gone.

Your kitchen will be great when finished just like mine and then all thoughts of cooking will fade in a month as we go back to our art when the holidays pass.

    MERRY MERRY, Lisa.

    Dear Lisa,
I just wanted to express my gratitude TO YOU!
I’ve been following your blog off and on for quite a while now.
Your blog was one of the first that ever made me think “hm, maybe I could do that.” I’ve been constantly amazed at the work you produce; beautiful, handcrafted work — with needle and with words.
I started my own blog not too long ago, and during this busy holiday time, I’ve found it so hard to get my head into posting. But after reading your words, I’m feeling a little more inspired.
    So, thank you.
Hope you have the best holiday season!
    Nancy

Yep – Cher – the stove is around the corner – not very convenient but it works fine.

Cheryl – funny how important a kitchen is huh!

Nancy – wow – thank you so much for the kind words. Glad to have inspired you.
