I write a detailed todo list every evening for the next day. It’s the only way I can juggle a job, kids, building a new studio, the business side of my art career and making art. Oh and Christmas. And all those other daily chores. I usually do pretty good at getting most everything on the list done.

I don’t feel like doing any of the things on my list tonight, like getting my passport application ready to mail, so I’m going to ignore it and head to the studio. So no photos of the newly completed Lines #10 and #11 tonight, it can wait til morning.

Three or four hours of studio time on a work night – that is absolutely JOY!

Oh – first – my construction photos for the week. It’s a little less exciting than the foundation or the framing because there isn’t a big huge change from day to day. But still it’s still pretty cool.

I missed the lifting of the stairs into place but they are there and it’s like a house now – not a construction site. They are even putting on the siding and the roof is tar papered.

Wow those guys are absolutley rockin’ on your house! How do you even contain you excitement?! I am with you on the list thing, but mine are not very detailed – I don’t have myself being pulled in as many directions as you do. I have started taking Acai berry capsules and I have been sleeping so much better and I am not as tired as I use to be which I hoped would turn into more hours in the studio sewing room, but instead I am turing on the FIt Channel and exercising 1 /12 to 2 hours every night. I need the exercise bad – I would be very happy to lose at least 40 pounds. I do sew and make my list during the commercial breaks though!

I am thoroughly enjoying your comstruction project. I went through a similar remodel quite some time ago.
Mine stretched from the projected 3 months out into a year. I’m glad yours is moving so quickly.
When you are done with it you are going to think you’ve died and gone to heaven.
I still feel that way each time a ascend the stairs to my studio.
And I also had to lose 2 favorite trees to make it happen.

  3. Am loving all the lines and shapes from the framing pictures. It is looking SO great.

Patty – I am absolutely thrilled about the new house – I stand out there often (well not today it barely broke 0 degrees here) and just marvel and how awesome it will be. I’m THRILLED. I’m going to check out those Acai berries!

Kay – I’m with you – no way I want to wait a year to get to my studio!

Thanks Cheryl – I love the framing also – I’ll be sad when it’s not there to see and covered in drywall – well no that sad – cause it will mean I can move in soon!

I love your series and how it has refined and explored. I work in a series in a somewhat unconscious and intuitive way- It’s when I look back and see my progress, the lights go on. For me, it’s all about the process.
