Goodbye New York (for now)
Saturday my solo exhibit in NYC came down and the artwork was packed up and is headed home today.
Always a bittersweet moment. Although my day is always brightened by the wonderfully kind and supportive comments that I received via email from people that viewed the show.
A few days ago I received the following comment from Sandra Sider:
I stopped by the Art Quilt Gallery and wanted you to know that I found your NYC solo show to be outstanding! I love how you balance color and texture, and suggest emotional tones in minimalist compositions. Two other viewers were there during my visit, and they were fascinated by the quilts.
How very generous of her to share her thoughts. Thank you Sandra.
Thank you to all of you that shared with me your appreciation for the artwork.
Quick Tip for Fellow Artists
Don’t assume that the gallery will remember how you had your artwork packaged. Include very explicit directions on how to repackage the work so they can easily get it back to you.
Along with the “how to” instruction, I send a list of which artworks belong in which container so they don’t have to waste time trying to guess or remember how it was supposed to work.
