Hand Dyed Fabric for Sale

For the first time ever, I am offering a selection of my handdyed fabrics for sale. These are the same fabrics I use when creating my own textile paintings (with the exception of Fabric #10 and #24 – I would use those on the backs of the quilts).

Although the fabric in my artwork looks solid from a distance it is really quite mottled and I love the little places where I splash other colors here and there. I’m not very neat in the dye room. These fabrics are not made with a recipe so I can’t reproduce the exact color or pattern.

It was a little hard to part with them as they hold so much possibility (each is a small piece of art in itself – my favorite is #9 – really rich and I love lights and use them often – like in Structres #35.)

The Fabrics

The colors are accurate on my monitor although colors are different from monitor to monitor, I gave a short description to help you determine if what you are seeing is correct. Business Details

Each piece of fabric is 100% cotton pimatex by Robert Kaufman Fabrics – a very dense weave luxurious cotton fabric. Cost is $32 per piece.

Each piece is approximately 1 yard although most are closer to 35″ or 34″ in length as they shrink when washed. They are about 44″ wide. I say 40″ above to be on the safe side below.

The fabric was dyed with Procion MX fiber reactive dyes and was washed a minimum of 3-4 washes (plus rinses) in very hot water. I quit washing when the water is clear. This does not guarantee the dyes will not run if you wash them but most likely they will not as they are chemically bonded to the cotton fibers, and if they do it should be minimal. The differences in the chemicals in water supplies and the temperature can change how the fabric washes out.

I will ship fabric within 3 business days of your order and will combine shipping charges (see the bottom of the page for rates).

Note that I do not have a shopping cart yet, so you will need to purchase the fabrics one and a time and I will refund any extra shipping charges. Or you can send me email with the list of fabrics you would like and I will send you a revised invoice (if they are still available when I read my email). Sorry for the inconvenience!

Returns

I will be happy to refund your money if you are not 100% satisfied with the fabric. Just return it to me and I’ll refund your money, minus any shipping charges paid.
